Introduce yourself and tell us about the part of the UK you’re from?

Hi, we’re All The People, a 3 piece alternative band from South London.

Can you tell us a bit about what you’ve been working on recently?

We are currently in the studio working on our 1st album as All The People and it’s going really well, I’d say we have the majority of it written, we’re now trying out different recording methods to try and capture the live elements just right.

And can you talk us through the mix?

We wanted to showcase some new amazing British music like Floating Points and the new Roots Manuva work alongside some classics from artists like Photek and Placebo and also incorporate our love of Hip Hop and soul vibes from across the globe.

Nice, talk us through the British music featured in this mix? Which British artists are you most excited about?

The mix features exciting artists like Hot Chip whose ‘Why Make Sense’ album is a truly brilliant representation of how original British music is right now. Radiohead who will always be a massive inspiration to us, as mentioned before the new Roots Manuva record is so cool, we’ve been a fan of him since day one, we wish the state of British Hip Hop was all this good:). Also if you haven’t checked out the new Floating Points record ‘Elaenia’ your in for a real treat. Other artists we’re feeling… Mount Kimbie, Cinematic Orchestra, Portishead, Massive Attack, Burial, Four Tet, Thom Yorke, the list is endless.

Cool, tell us about some of your British musical Heroes and influences in general?

We started off djing drum & bass so were influenced early on by the likes of Photek, LTJ Bukem, Calibre, Marcus Intalex and also the Kiss/Radio 1 dj’s playing d&b at the time like Hype, Ray Keith, Andy C etc. It was a very exciting time for us growing up in London, we have always had a very broad taste in music and have been fans of Gilles Peterson, Bugs In The Attic, 4 Hero, Fatboy Slim, Leftfield…. too many too mention

Great and what’s on the cards in the immediate future?

At this time our 2nd single ‘Don’t Think’ is about to come out on 100 Billion Wires (big up Helen!). We’ve just shot a video for it and it’s already getting radio play from the likes of Gilles Peterson and Phil Taggart:) As mentioned before we’re working hard on our debut album.

And finally, where is the best place in the world you have performed and why?

That’s tough but our fondest memories are probably Zurich for street parade, I always remember them opening these huge doors in the club that opened up onto the lake and everyone jumped in and were swimming at sunrise, really surreal! Also DJing Glastonbury and Reading festival was sweet:)
