Introduce yourself and tell us about the part of the UK you’re from?

I’m Hamish, a 26-year-old artist; I work at an independent photo lab in Bristol where I have been living for the last 8 years or so. Bristol seems to undulate culturally, I moved back to Dorset for a time, and I was producing stuff everyday, I never had that in Bristol, but since moving back I seem to have tapped into a nice balance.

Can you tell us a bit about what you’ve been working on recently?

I have quite a lot of projects on at the moment, a fair amount of collaborations, I pretty much always have 4 or 5 on the go at any one time. I’m also looking into putting out others music.

And can you talk us through the mix?

Theses are my sonics, I have quite a short attention span and so this is how I listen to music. Most of what I vibe to is by friends and friends of friends. A lot of the tracks are also from tapes that I own. I use cassettes a lot when I play out. Sony Walkmen Super Bass is a very nice mix.

Nice, give us a taste of some of your favourite British artists at the moment?

Theres a lot of collaborators in there, Tha Money (aka blacktunio) I did a track with on my ‘Reckno’ tape in 2012, I don’t know much about him but he’s a far out dude, we trade youtube links of sampling recommendations. Stuff from ‘Reckno’ comes with a weighty backing, Teresa Winters is a gem, AyeGeTee too and Joane Skyler who I did a split 12” with.

Cool, tell us about some of your British musical Heroes and influences in general?

I’m a big fan of Stephan Bishop (Basic House) and anything from Opal Tapes he’s my taste maker, also Young Echo and all the Bristol affiliates Ossia, Jabu, Khan and that.

Great and what is on the cards in the immediate future?

Finish a bunch of stuff, I have an overwhelming amount of things that are nearly finished. I want to start playing out after a hiatus, visit friends in Europe.

And finally, where is the best place in the world you have peformed and why?

TradGarden Festival in Stockholm. Not sure if they did more than 2, but I was treated well. The event took place underneath a bypass south of the city, but it was real swanky and the lineup was amazing (Holy Other, Fatima Al Qadiri, Palmistry (+ Yung Lean in 2013)).
