7 Sides of OC & Verde [Interview & Mix] | Selector After Dark

This week’s interview & mix comes from OC & Verde

Introduce yourself and tell us about the part of the UK you’re from?
Hi we’re OC & Verde and we’re based just outside of Manchester in the North England.

Tell us about some of your British DJ heroes?
Our favourite British DJs are Sasha and John Digweed. Musically they play what we’re really into and what we produce and we just think they’re two absolute legends and probably the best story telling DJs there’s ever been.

What have you been working on recently?
We’ve recently been working on a new remix for Yoshitoshi and we’ve done a collab with Eli & Fur and we’ve also got a new EP coming out on Steve Lawler’s label in June.

Tell us about the mix, how did you put it together, what did you want to represent?
This mix has got a few new original tracks in from us. It’s basically all the new music that we’re playing and pushing forward for this summer.

Talk us through the British music featured in this mix? Which British artists are you most excited about?
The British featured in this mix is from Christoph, Scream and Alan Fitzpatrick, all guys that we like everything that they do. The production is fantastic and the tracks always work in a club.

A British artist that we’re really excited about at the moment again is probably Christoph. All his tracks feature in our sets and always seem to go down really well.

What is on the cards in the immediate future?
Coming up this summer we are playing for Steve Lawler at Sankeys Ibiza for VIVa Warriors and we’re also playing for Do Not Sleep, Cuckoo Land, which is a new party at Ibiza Rocks with Darius Syrossian, and I think we’ve got a few UK gigs coming up and we’re also in Beirut, so pretty busy this summer.

Where is the best place in the world you have DJ’d and why?
The best place we have probably DJ’d in the world, we’d have to say Sankeys in Ibiza. Always a really good crowd, always a good atmosphere in there. Anywhere in Ibiza you’re always going to get the best crowd.
