Introduce yourself and tell us about the part of the UK you’re from?

My name is Zephyr, or Alex Channelle to my mum. I was born and raised in Bristol, UK.

Can you tell us a bit about what you’ve been working on recently?

The new sound. Starting with my single Soul Trumpet featuring American vocalist Patricia Edwards. As we speak, I’m working on my first EP, think Nate Dogg, Gospel/Soul, early 2000 RnB vibes, with a drop.

And can you talk us through the mix?

The mix is representing the underground Future & Trap scene that I’ve come to love. I wanted to showcase people with little support but with big tunes, producers now gaining traction, and of course absolute anthems that I’ve been digging recently.

Nice, talk us through the British music featured in this mix? Which British artists are you most excited about?

I wanted to show a diverse group of experimental British producers within the mix, and as the genre is Future, it wasn’t hard to do. The likes of up & comers Goldwater and CAPSUN have bright futures in the scene and I’ve been following them for a while. As I have SteLouse (pronounced Stay Loose) and Troyboi who have already become stars of Future & Trap. I’m also really digging Stooki Sound right now. They’re all on the right path.

Cool, tell us about some of your British musical Heroes and influences in general?

They’ve changed drastically over the years, but the originals were the likes of Rusko and Rusty and the currents are the sounds of Troyboi, Stooki Sound, Oshi and CAPSUN (to name a few).

Great and what’s to come over the immediate future?

My first EP along with a video or two. And then who knows?!?

And finally, where is the best place in the world you have performed and why?

Motion, Bristol. Simply because I love my hometown!
