Apple could soon launch five more Beats Radio stations under the licensing terms the company has already agreed with rights-holders.
A new article on The Verge suggests that Apple could launch more Beats Radio stations without having to negotiate any further with labels. The stations could potentially be part of an international expansion (more hours, more languages, more local styles of music).
Apple have also been busy registering extra domains such as beats2.com.cn & beats2.hk so it seems that a roll-out of Beats stations is somewhere in the Apple plan…
While the industry and consumers are yet to make up it’s mind on Apple Music and how many of the free trial customers convert to become paying subscribers remains to be seen, Beats1 Radio seems to have been a big success. Could this be the start of a new direction for Apple?
