Hector & friends took control of the ‘On The Road To BPM‘ event at pacha in Barcelona. Here’s what went down..
Pacha evokes a response from people all around the world such is the legacy of the two cherry’s. Its expansion from Ibiza clubbing Mecca to globally recognised brand over the years has arguably had a detrimental effect of the overall regard of the Pacha nightclubs themselves. But working with local promoters as the Pacha Barcelona outpost has done by enlisting the infamous FACT Worldwide team, who are responsible for some of the best club nights in Barcelona and across Europe, has seen Pacha Barcelona delivering impeccably programmed club nights that’s they were originally famed for.
This Sunday evening marked an extra special party as it was the, ‘On The Road To BPM’ event which coincided with the week that BPM announced their festival line up, which is a veritable who’s who of dance music. Opening the show were the UK duo, The Willers Brothers. Delving deep into their record bags for a series of low set grooves that got the gradually filling club moving nicely. It was obvious to those watching that these two knew there way around the DJ booth, not surprising as their raise to prominence was as the residents of Egg London. Cutting your teeth in such an environment meant priming the crowd of Pacha Barcelona for the next act was something they were more than ready for.
Up next headliner Hector put the crowd through their paces, pumping tech house moved things darker as the with a selection of on point house and techno that serviced the Sunday night crowd perfectly. Dropping his latest Recort remix in amongst an array of rolling percussive dance floor focused beats. Working his usual magic, the festival headliner was able to temper his usual arsenal to suit the smaller crowd and club and showcase why he is one of the most highly regarded DJs around.
Andre Buljat, the long serving Barcelona DJ came through to round off the night, starting with warm tech and maintaining the pace set by Hector he moved on to a housey selection bringing the crowd up one more time, ending the night on a high. Pacha Barcelona and FACT work in harmony and delivered a perfectly packaged club night, marking a return to what Pacha has always done so well.
