John Graham aka Quivver on The Underground Allstars Charity EP

Underground Allstars is a charity project supported by Pro-B-Tech Records, Tilt, Redanka, Kenny Shifter, Luke Brancaccio, Stelios Vassiloudis, Fulvio Perniola DJ, NameSpace, John Graham aka Quivver and ThermalBear

We caught up with John Graham aka Quivver to dig a little deeper…

quivverFirst and foremost thanks for your time John, we know how heavy your schedule is, but how do you balance life between Studio, Dj and Home??

I’ve got into a routine of working pretty much 9 to 5 in the studio now. When I was in England I used to work till the early hours and get into the studio about midday but since I moved to LA my schedule has been more conventional.. i don’t get smashed every time I go out dj’ing these days either so I can actually function on Mondays now too.

Thermalbear and yourself contributed remixes for the latest Underground Allstars, what made you get involved and is it the first fundraising record you’ve been involved with?

I got an email from Mick Park with all the info about what they were doing and it was something i immediately wanted to get involved with. I’ve got a 3 year old daughter so I could relate to the whole thing more than I might have before. I’m glad I was able to help in some way and I hope it makes a difference.

We all loved your remix, you have a very distinctive and recognisable sound. Was it an easy track to work with in the studio?

Thanks, I’m glad you like it.. Yeah the original parts were really good so it came together quite easily. Sometimes I feel like I’m just writing a whole new track when i do remixes but this one actually felt like a remix.

What’s new for Quivver 2013/14

I’ve got loads of new Quivver stuff either finished or almost finished. The next release is on theToolroom ‘rhythm district 2? comp which is out in a couple of weeks.

Apart from that my electronic/ indie rock album is finished and ready to go. The first single ‘roll the dice’ will be out very soon on distinctive.

You can also now make a donation (big or small) via the Pay Pal link below which goes directly to James family – everything counts!!

James was born premature at 26 weeks, he was in the Neonatal unit for two and a half months. Since being out of hospital James has been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, this is a disease which affects part of the brain, and there is no cure for. James is 16 months old now and struggles with his feeding and sometimes has to have a nasal gastric tube in, James has stiffness in his arms and he can’t sit up unaided and has to have a specialist chair to sit in plus other specialist equipment, to help with his posture – Thank you so much for your help!
