If you are planning to head to Ibiza for a holiday after July 1st this summer, you may have to pay a new ‘Sustainable Tourist Tax’. The money raised will be put towards the protection of resources on the island.

While this is pretty annoying, we do like to hear of nay schemes that aim to preserve Ibiza’s natural beauty.

The tax will be paid upon arrival to holiday accommodation and will change depending on the kind of hotel or hostel you are staying in. The price will range from €0.50 – €2.00 per night. The tax will also affect those travelling to other Balearic islands like Malta, Majorca and Menorca.

In other Ibiza news, Kygo has announced three live shows this summer.
