For anyone reading this who isn’t aware of your music, tell us who you are and where you are from..
My name is SNBRN and I’m from Los Angeles
How has your year been so far? What’s been good, what’s been bad?
This year has been one for the books for myself. Got to play my holy grail ‘Coachella’ and both weekends of Electric Forest. Besides getting stuck in a couple airports nothing too bad.
Aside from your busy touring schedule, what has been keeping you busy?
Lots of studio time!! When I’m not on the road, I’m such a hermit and live in front of the computer.
You are famous for making your own brand of ‘Sunset House’. Where is the best place in the world to play a sunset party?
I’m gonna have to say on the beach in Ibiza. I have never been but hoping for next year.
How much influence does travel have on the music you make?
All the travel has a huge impact on my music. You’re exposed to new sounds, culture and food away from home. It really does give me a ton of inspiration.
Your new single ‘Melrose’ is a collaboration with Strangle Club. How did the track come about and what was the inspiration behind it?
I was out super late one night on Melrose in LA with Strange Club kinda joking around about all the health food stores we were walking by and we rapping the main line as we walked. We all ended up going back to my studio that night and recorded the vocal and started the track
Remixes and collaborations have been a big part of your journey so far, if you could work with any musician, alive or dead, who would it be and why?
I’d have to go with Fatboy Slim, he has been a huge influence on me. All the sampling he did for his album You’ve Come a Long Way, Baby is truly next level.
What can we expect from you for the rest of the year?
Got a couple more shows here in US then my big Australia tour coming up in November and some new tunes as well.
