We caught up with Henri to find out a little more about the mix and the man himself..
For those who don’t know you already, briefly introduce yourself & tell us where you are from..
My name is Henri, and I am a 21 year old deep house DJ and producer from Brussels, Belgium. I started producing music when I was 14 and have been touring the world to play my music for the past 2 years.
I have a classical piano background, and naturally I turned to deep house because I loved the idea of being able to mix real instruments with electronic instruments!
Tell us a little about what to expect to hear in this mix, who are some of the featured artists that are you are excited about right now?
In this mix you will first hear an orchestral version of my most recent song, ‘Until The End’ (Orchestral Intro Edit). Then as I wanted to stay very deep you will hear artists such like Fabich, Redondo, Klingande but also my remix of ‘Beautiful Life’ than my friend Lost Frequencies asked me to do. In short, I chose a quieter and more underground playlist than what I usually play live in festival (Future House, UK House, …). Hope you guys will like it.
What advice would you give to aspiring DJs & producers?
I will have two very simple tips to give:
First: Never give up!
Because if you love what you do and work hard, one day or another you will succeed! Probably not the first time, maybe not the second, nor the third but it will come eventually! Don’t give up and keep on learning from everybody you meet along the way and try to catch all the opportunities you can to improve. If you want to succeed you will!
Second : Make sure you make music that you like and represents you.
Don’t try to copy Guetta or Garrix thinking it will be a shortcut to success. You have to be ahead of the game so make sure you find your own sound by making music you like and that truly represents you.
What do you have coming up over the next few months? (gigs, releases etc)
I’m also working days and nights to prepare my very first live show which will take place on the 11th of March an Ancienne Belgique in Brussels, one of the best venues in Europe. Then, I’ll go on my 2nd Asian tour, probably a few shows in the US and will be back for the festival season in Europe.
