Casio G-SHOCK London, June 2014This month G-SHOCK announced their collaboration with youth culture experts Urban Nerds Collective, who have joined forces with G-SHOCK to define their Sessions campaign, aligning the brand with the sounds of the UK underground..

Founded on the G-SHOCK ethos of ‘never give up’, the G-SHOCK Sessions began in 2010 providing young up and coming music artists a platform on which to showcase their talents and help them on their way to success. They grew out of the grime and British rap scene which flourished in the early 2000s, however G-SHOCK realise the ever expanding music scene.

Electronic music scenes have fused together, with strong influences from house, techno and early 90s D&B and UK garage, creating a thriving electronic scene in the UK with increasing global influence. Urban Nerds Collective will be helping G-SHOCK deliver a pop-up, intimate live music show at the EAST store on Brick Lane. G-SHOCK Sessions 2.0 will elicit this new sound kicking off with UK Bass legend Hannah Wants.

“A lot of brands want to be associated with fresh UK music, but won’t have the confidence to work with emerging talent from new scenes. It’s great to be working with a forward thinking brand that want to give a platform to upcoming talent” Luke Hodson (Founder)

Hannah Wants is, notorious for her hard-hitting bass house style, is a self taught DJ who over the past few years a new genre of house music has quickly risen to the forefront of the scene with Hannah securely taking the reigns as its leading lady.

Since then Hannah’s tracks and mixes have continued to create waves, gaining momentum with every release. What sets her apart from other DJ’s is her continued free music that she pushes out to her followers whom have grown and grown. Bi-monthly Hannah releases a meticulously crafted 24+ track ‘mixtape’ on her SoundCloud page as a free download for all to enjoy encompassing her favourite current tracks, taking you on a journey from start to finish.

Daddy Nature meets Chris Lorenzo – ‘Lilt’

We are loving the summer vibes from Daddy Nature (Urban Nerds) and Chris Lorenzo (Cause & Affect). It’s a reworking of the original “Lilt” advert theme tune.. it don’t get much more tropical than that!
