Artists are always looking for new ways to innovate, create and promote music online.
A recent survey conducted by Soundplate of more than 1000 artists has uncovered some interesting data about the use of AI in music.
20% of artists have already used AI in their music production process.
AI and music, a match made in heaven?
AI music mastering, AI music production plugins and production tools are becoming more and more common and getting better all the time as the technology matures.
Around 20% of artists have already tried out at least one of these tools and an additional 10% plan to in the near future.
This is not necessarily about using AI music generators or letting AI music makers create on artists behalf, it’s about embracing the new technology to enhance the workflow or creative process of making new music.
While this does show strong interest in AI for music production it also suggests there still a huge amount of room for this to grow and with the tech getting better all the day we predict the number of artists using AI tools will continue to rise.
What are artists currently using AI for?
Music production tools, sampling, AI music mastering and even remix generation is all being improved by AI.
Outside of production some artists are using AI for music cover generation, writing promo text, setting up music advertising campaigns etc
