Fabric put together a huge line up on Saturday, here’s our take on what went down..

Fabric always tends to have a certain hold on a crowd, walking down those infamous stairs often means leaving inhibitions at the door. Last night was no different.

Craig Richards opened Room One to a modest crowd, there was a sense that in these preliminary stages of the evening that everyone was just warming up and finding their feet. In Room Two, however, the atmosphere was certainly more vibrant, buoyed by the blazing May heat the crowd lapped up Solardo‘s familiar techno sounds, with little or no room on the dance floor the crowd soon spilled onto the stages, with the group in the booth clearly enjoying proceedings.

As the night wore on the crowd began to even itself out and DJ Tennis in Room One may have surprised many with his excellent set, a highlight from this was the Carl Craig Remix of Kill 100; leaving the dance floor properly moving for the first time that evening, this was only highlighted further when R.U.T.H.S (Tuff City Kids) was dropped, the looping piano prompting hands to go skywards.

If there was to be a ‘main attraction’ it was SKREAM – in a packed Room Two he didn’t disappoint. The hordes of people crammed onto the dance floor and the many stages all lavishing in his techno laden set. You have to commend his commitment to the cause as well, engaging with those around him to keep the mood.

Finally, it was George Fitzgerald whose deep sounds in Room One were excellent, a stand out moment coming in the form of Incursion (Discrete Circuit) the nostalgic tone of the track saw the shapes get bigger and the night only get better.
