Forgetting and Learning Again, the new release by Stuart Howard, aka Lapalux, featuring folk singer Kerry Leatham is an atmospheric, quasi chill-step delight. It opens with a jazz R&B fusion influenced sound, progressively intwined with Leatham’s beautiful voice and pure percussive beauty in the lead up to the break down as we witness a kind of intensity towards the end. The delicate balance of sounds working together is very reminiscent of Flying Lotus, not that surprising considering this tune is taken from the upcoming release Some Other Time EP on Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder imprint.
