Staggering on Rooftops is the debut EP from Oxford/London based LuQus. The album is something of a sensory delight; each track bringing with it something subtle, playing on our senses like a soft breeze. The use of gentle, almost background vocals of ‘You’ll Be’ bring the track together, reminiscent of Phaeleh’s style. Contrastingly, the next track uses the vocals more in the foreground, to work on balance with the pulsing rhythm flowing throughout. The album in its entirety is a lovely piece of work, particularly for a first EP and should be listened to as an album, somehow it works best that way.
