Night Works – ‘Long Forgotten Boy’ (Erol Alkan’s Extended Rework)

737457_10151436822509928_961009939_oThe ever elusive Techno-come-Indie Demigod Erol Alkan is back in a typically under-the-radar fashion in 2013 with his rework of Night Works’ track ‘Long Forgotten Boy’. Erol’s uncontested ability to transform 3 minute experimental indie-pop track into 8 and a half minute psychedelic Jazz-Funk saga has not only gained him plaudits, but has driven an unfounded demand for his expertise from artists and labels alike (his rework of Metronomy’s ‘The Bay’ had Parklife 2012 rocking like no other festival I ventured to that summer). Here, Erol has taken the plucky Spector-esque Loose Lips release, and created a groovy ‘Roller-Disco’ vibe rework. Who knows what obscure genre-defying venture Erol will embark on next, whatever it is, I’ll most certainly be listening!

Erol’s rework of Night Works’ ‘Long Forgotten Boy’ will be released on 4th March 2013 on Loose Lips Records.
