| Round One, Press Dat saw Old Skool garage legends Spark & Kie go head to head against Elijah & Skilliam, with garage don Jameison throwing down the classics at our roadblock launch party at East Village. Mic to Mic, deck to deck, Press Dat bridges Old Skool UKG flavor with contemporary grime and bassline. Still! Round Two, we have legends Double 99 stepping up. Consisting of Omar Adimora, Tim Deluxe and Tim Liken, the group pioneered the mid 90’s speed garage sound. Renowned tune ‘RIP Groove’ is a timeless piece that continues to get reloads- with the power to make your girlfriend and her best friend’s skank in extraordinary ways. Double 99 are set to spearhead 2012 with remixes and releases on their own Ice Cream Records. Garage revival’s here at its fullest! Butterz young gun Royal- T makes energetic bassline that’s pumped with 90’s essence and today’s grime influences. Tastefully capsulelising the sound of early garage while injecting a heavy dose of urban UK bass, Royal-T’s production is one of a kind, earning him support from the likes of Rinse FM, Kiss 100, 1 Xtra and a forthcoming US Tour. We’ve also invited the first voice of UKG MC Creed -known for his trademark stutter speed vocals- to jump on the mic over garage’s latest hype. Support sees Short Back and Sides takeover upstairs bar with House and UKBass. These guys are known to go hard with a pan of signature UK sounds. | |
