BOARDMASTERS FESTIVAL KICKS OFF THIS WEEK

Cornwall – 7th – 11th AUGUST 2013

With fantastic weather scheduled, this years Boardmasters festival is almost here. The final touches are being perfected to the UK’s ultimate summer event for what will no doubt be an event like no other.

Weekend tickets have been in huge demand with more people than even looking forward to the highlight event on the surf and festival schedule.

The day breakdown has been released and Friday will welcome the likes of The Vaccines, Everything Everything and Ryan Keen on the Main Stage plus dubstep legend Benga and producer extraordinaire Redlight heading up the Unleashed stage. Indie and alt rock lovers head to the Mavericks stage for We Are The Ocean and Dinosaur Pile Up amongst the throng of bands on offer whilst kicking off the Marley Point party is one of the UK’s most buzzed-about house acts Dusky with Bondax and Monki also on the menu.

Saturday’s immense bill will see Basement Jaxx, Miles Kane and Delphic take to the Main Stage and electronic pioneers Simian Mobile Disco leading the awesome acts on the Unleashed Stage alongside French-Soler, Jakwob Live and XXXY to name a few. Mallory Knox and Hawk Eyes will headline Saturday’s Mavericks rock offering and T.Williams, Gordon City, Josh Kumra, Crowns and Maribou State just a few of the other incredible acts on Saturday’s star studded line up.

Incase Boardmasters festival-goers haven’t had enough, Sunday will round the weekends spectacular showcase off with yet another day of phenomenal music and captivating festival atmosphere. Ben Howard, a man who needs no introduction will be headlining Sunday’s Main Stage followed by The Joy Formidable and Tom Odell. With Temples and Little Barrie at the Mavericks stage, MJ Cole and Devoltion at The Marley Point and Cosmo Jarvis and Luke Sital Singh on The View stage there is something for everyone from rock, hip hop, house and drum n bass giants to the up and coming. Sunday’s Unleashed Stage will return with a host of credible acts – bona fide hip-hop legend Grandmaster Flash, Radio 1’s B.Traits and East London reggae band The Skints just a snippet of whats available.

The party doesn’t stop there with a massive fours evenings of after parties available with some of the biggest names on the dance circuit and from the weekends line up performing including Bondax on Friday, Gordon City on Saturday and Duke Dumont and B.Traits on Sunday.

To help transport festival-goers between Watergate and Fistral, Boardmasters will be providing a series of shuttle buses, running every 30 minutes from pre designated spots at Watergate Bay and Newquay Town Centre.
