Fabric Has Had It’s License Revoked… The Dance Music Community Reacts

The iconic London club has been told to shut its doors…

Yesterday evening, Islington Borough Council revoked Fabric‘s license following the recent deaths of two 18 year olds within the club.

The council believed that Fabric’s search policy was “inadequate” and that they “grossly” aware of that they believed many of the patrons to be under the influence of drugs.

In a dramatic evening, there was vociferous support for the London club – this came from all age ranges and professions, highlighting fabrics importance as one of London’s premier night clubs.

The Metropolitan Police’s controversial operation Lenor was highlighted throughout saying the evidence gathered show that drugs were readily available in the club. This, however, was rebuffed by a leading professor from InTheLoop (drugs education service) who noted that shutting Fabric wouldn’t end drug culture but would likely “increase it.”

The outpouring of grief from the electronic community has been overwhelming and Twitter under the handles #FabricReview #SaveFabric shows a never ending scroll of love and support for the London venue. Check out some of the reactions from people within the dance music community below:
