Facebook Brings Spotify & Apple Music to Messenger

Facebook Brings Spotify & Apple Music to Messenger

The social networking giant gets serious about making music more social.

Facebook has been making several music industry hires recently. Their next step towards further growing their power in the music industry is to integrate the leading music streaming platforms with their messenger app.

Facebook messenger has over a billion active users. From now on users will be able to listen to Spotify tracks without ever leaving messenger. Paid Spotify users will be able to listen to full tracks and freemium users will get 30-second previews.

The full Apple Music integration will follow very soon.

Spotify are also reported to be launching their own chat bot for messenger which will give users sharing music fully integrated search, recommendations and sharing features.

Facebook continue to extend their music department and we expect them to launch their own music product in future but in the meantime, this is good news for Spotify and their users as it will make sharing music easier than ever.

If you run a Facebok fan page for your music or brand, this might be a good time to think about how you can grow your audience further as it seems that Facebook is only set to become more powerful in the music industry.
