Track Record

De School, has been created by the team behind one of our favourite clubs in the world, Trow Amsterdam. Trow sadly closed at the start of the year but we keep very fond memories of the club and have total faith that the team will deliver again. In it’s later years, Trow enforced a no cameras rule and stopped pre-selling their regular club nights which made for a pretty unique atmosphere. We hope some of the same thought out rules and concepts follow to the new venue.

The Music

While we are still waiting on full details of regular nights we do have some of the names who will be playing at the venue in it’s first couple of months and the line up’s are worth getting excited about. The programming is set to shine a light on local dutch talent like Tom Trago, Job Jobse and Makam. De School will also welcome some incredible international talent like Seth Troxler, Shanti Celeste and DJ Sotofett.

24 Hour License, Open 7 days per week

The venue has been granted a rare 24 hour license. This means parties can go on all night long and the venue can (and will) be open 7 days a week. In an interview with RA Luc Mastenbroek (programmer) explained what this means for the venue..

We’re gonna start off slowly, all nights will have an open end but they won’t go on forever. Sometimes a night will end around 5 AM, on very good nights it might be 9 AM or 10 AM. We’re striving for a culture where people can come for 24 hours to dance, eat good food in our restaurant, chill out in the garden and see cool exhibitions, but we’ll have to build that up first.

More than a Nightclub

As mentioned in the quote above, the team at De School have bigger plans than simply being a nightclub. The site will also feature a concert venue, a restaurant, a café, an exhibition space and a gym. This venue is set to make a massive impact on the cultural scene of Amsterdam and we can’t wait to check it out!

So there you have it, just 4 of many reasons to get excited about going to school.. See you on the dancefloor!
