Introduce yourself and tell us about the part of the UK you’re from?

Hello! I am Mark aka Ambassadeurs. I’m an electronic music producer from Brighton. I’ve been living here in Brighton for the past 2 years and I have to say it’s one of my favorite places in the UK. It’s a small city by the sea and has some really good music scenes going on in it and lots of talented producers live here. There are lots of great venues, some really good small labels and the beach in the summer has an amazing atmosphere. All in all it’s an inspiring place to be.

Can you tell us what you’ve been working on recently?

Recently I have been working on lots of different tracks and remixes. I’ve finished my debut album which will be out later this year and have begun work on my second. I’ve also got some tracks that I will be giving away on my Soundcloud soon. When iI’m not working on my own music I do lots of mastering for other artists and have been very busy with that recently.

Can’t wait to hear it all! Can you talk us through the mix?

My mix is kind of a reflection of all the British music I’m into at the moment – I wanted to represent some of the wide variety that you find in British electronic music. The mix was made in Ableton as I am not technically a DJ and perform my music live when I play out rather than DJing.

Great – can you talk us through the British music in the mix?

My entire mix was comprised of British artists or part British collaborations. I focused mostly on the electronic side of things for this one but could have easily branched off into lots of different genres and scenes that the UK has.

I’m excited by so many British artists and keep finding new ones daily, so much so that it’s hard to keep track at times. Right now I’m really enjoying the darker side of British electronic music; people like Sorrow, Holden, Burial.

There’s some great names in there. Can you tell us about some of your British DJ heroes and influences in general?

Producer-wise, there’s a lot of great British music that I’m into. To name a few I really like in no particular order: Gold Panda, Slugabed, Om Unit, Bobby Tank, Caribou, Burial, Four Tet, Jamie XX, Darq E Freaker, Sorrow… I could go on for quite some time.

Lovely stuff! So what’s on the cards in the immediate future?

The immediate future for me is to get my album out and go from there. I will be playing live lots for the rest of the year and working on new remixes for various artists. I’m also toying with the idea of a side project which may or may not happen…

Sounds exciting! Finally, where’s the best place in the world you have DJ’d and why?

If I had to pick one place I would probably say Barcelona. I’ve played there a few times and really love everything about the city and have had the best times there. The people are also great and the electronic scene for what I do is small there but the people that are into it are really into it and know how to have fun!
