Introduce yourself and tell us about the part of the UK you’re from?

Hi Cilla. I’m Coco Cole and I’m based in big ol London town.

Can you tell us a bit about what you’ve been working on recently?

I’ve just finished my first ever official remix which I’m super happy and excited about, I have the production bug now and just can’t wait to get stuck in. I would love to one-day release an album so that’s what I’m going to work towards. I’ve also just finished working on a 10 track free download compilation, “Say Yes : Volume 1”, that I’ve spent about 6 months curating. Everything from the tracks to the masters to the artwork was has been meticulously thought out and perfected and everyone has done such as incredible job. I can’t wait for people to hear it. It’ll be up on my Soundcloud very soon.

And can you talk us through the mix?

I guess I want it to represent what my sounds are right now, especially the artists that I’m rating and hoping to pioneer. There’s some real fresh talent in there like Dorsia, Brodanse, Kalyde, Cloaka & the Majora, who’s track is from my Compilation. I always like to create a lot of movement in my mixes too, take people up and down, round and round. A bit of an ebb and flow rollercoaster feel except I’d rather people don’t vomit at the end of it.

Nice, give us a taste of some of your favourite British artists at the moment?

There’s loads of British music in this mix, I always try to support homegrown talent first. Actually everyone I mentioned above is British and I’m excited about all of them. Cloaka and Majora are on my compilation, I’ll have Kalyde & Dorsia in the guest mix on my radio show soon and I should be taking Brodanse to Ibiza!

Cool, tell us about some of your British DJ Heroes and influences in general?

Kevin & Perry definitely.

And what’s on the cards in the immediate future?

Dinner!! That’s very immediate, I’m hungry. I also have to move flat at the end of the month so that preoccupies my life. But mainly the compilation release, the remix and hopefully a launch party for “Say Yes : Volume 1”. I’ll keep you updated!

And finally, where is the best place in the world you have DJ’d and why?

Anywhere where there’s a great vibe. A top-notch sound system with friendly club staff and a crowd that is with you 100%. No aggro, all love on the dance floor and an open mind to the music and of course serious party stamina.
