Introduce yourself and tell us about the part of the UK you’re from?

Hi my name is Compa and I am from Manchester in England

Can you tell us a bit about what you’ve been working on recently?

Recently I have been recording an EP that is forthcoming on a label called Deep Medi, which is run by Mala, Digital Mystics.  I’ve also been on tour playing in Istanbul, Poland, Greece and the UK. I also have a US tour planned for this November and December.

And can you talk us through the mix?

The mix compromises on new and so far unreleased Dubplates, by me and friends of mine and it represents where I am at as a producer. It represents my sound and it represents parts of what I play live.

Nice, give us a taste of some of your favourite British artists at the moment?

A few British artists that are really inspiring me at the moment are; Mala, J Kenzo, Melle Dee and Brunks. All incredible DJ’s and musicians and all names worth knowing if you don’t know them already.

Cool, tell us about some of your British DJ Heroes and influences in general?

One of my most influential British DJ hero’s is Mala – Digital Mystikz, because it’s music that has inspired me since I first learnt what dubstep was back in 2009. His record labels were actually the first dubstep labels that I ever found out about and from the very beginning I wanted to be part of Deep Medi in particular, which is a dream that has come true, which is an honour and a blessing.

And what’s on the cards in the immediate future?

For the rest of this year and moving on to next year, I am constantly working on new music and when I am not in the studio I am on tour DJing around the world.

And finally, where is the best place in the world you have DJ’d and why?

The best place in the world that I have DJ’d so far has to be playing a show on Solar Beach in Istanbul Turkey at a festival called Mono. Beautiful weather and people and a great soundsystem, it was like living in a dream for a day, it was incredible!
