Hi Dam Mantle, first of all give us a bit of an intro….
I’m originally from the Canterbury sort of area but I moved to Glasgow seven years ago to study art and I have been here ever since.
Excellent, talk us through what have you been working on recently?
Of late I have been working on some solo stuff, but mainly collaborations with some people, some work as General Ludd and others that I am sure will see the light of day at some point, but yeah essentially just throwing parties in the city, dj’ing and having fun!
Exciting stuff in the pipeline then, on to the mix you provided for us, talk us through how you put it together, what did you want to do with it?
So the mix is put together mainly from Vinyl, some unreleased stuff, with some edits at the end. I suppose what I wanted to represent was how broad a spectrum of music we have in the UK and how lucky we are for all the cultures we have that inhabit the place.
Excellent, there’s lots of exciting British talent in there. Who were your big British DJ Hero’s when you started out?
I’m not sure I believe in heroes, but I have a lot of time for anyone with a multifarious far-reaching attitude towards mixing records.
