This week’s interview and mix comes from Danglo.
Introduce yourself and tell us about the part of the UK you’re from?
Hey Hey, I’m Danglo and I’m from Shepherd’s Bush, London but I currently reside in Camberwell.
Can you tell us a bit about what you’ve been working on recently?
I’ve been working on a track called Heartbeat (When You Call), which opens my mix. I have been pretty busy since the release of my new EP « Complete » on Kitsuné.
And can you talk us through the mix?
I spent a couple of weeks digital crate digging and asking producers if they were British or not. I wanted to get as much fresh stuff out there and put a few bits of mine in there too.
Nice, talk us through the British music featured in this mix? Which British artists are you most excited about?
Well, I played ‘Version 1’ of Heartbeat (When You Call) and the Ben Pearce remix of The Morning off my new EP. This was just to introduce myself and I didn’t have to check whether it was British or not. Then a corker from Redlight and another from Ben Pearce. I’m real keen on NVOY, Wayward and Lxury too – I was in the studio with NVOY a few weeks back.
Cool, tell us about some of your British DJ heroes?
From the age of 9 I was listening to Fatboy Slim and The Prodigy, I didn’t have a clue how or what the music was, it just sounded like fun!
Great and what’s on the cards in the immediate future?
I’ve been working a few new demos and developing the Danglo live show. I am aiming to get Heartbeat out before the summer if possible!
And finally, where is the best place in the world you have performed and why?
Tokyo, mainly because it was Tokyo.
