Hello Mickey, can you start off by introducing yourself?

Alright so my name is Mickey Lightfoot, I’m a producer , vocalist and songwriter based in South East London, Forest Hill to be precise.

Cool, what have you been up to recently?

Well I’ve been working on this mix for you guys, and producing some other acts aswell and wrapping up a body of work on my side, so look out for that shortly. And last year I had an EP out called To Kill A Flocking Bird, the lead single of that was called L.O.S.T featuring Darq E Freaker and yeah it had good reviews, and hopefully you find it and enjoy it. Excellent, talk us through the mix.. I took a bit of time to get some tracks from friends and people I respect from the UK, I guess it’s a lot of artists and producers who are attempting to do alternative music or present themselves in a slightly different way or avoid cliche.

Talk us through some of the British talent in the mix?

I put Jay Prince in there, Murkage, Bipolar Sunshine, Ezekiel, Paul White, Darq E Freaker, Wonder, there’s loads of great musicians at the moment. It’s a great time for british music, it could be better though, the more support we get the better, I think it’s a good time for creativity at least.

Talk us through some of your Britsh heroes?

Dj’s like DJ EZ, Roots Manuva, Black Twang, those are the main UK guys. They were all just bold and doing there own thing. Roots Manuva wasn’t trying to be anybody other than himself, so yeah it was working, What’s on the cards for the immediate future? Wrapping up my body of work and producing acts, so as long as I can maintain creative, I guess you’ll see more output from me. The act’s I’m working with are top secret so I can’t tell you that!

And finally this being a global show where is the best place in the world you have played?

Man this is a problem, I don’t wanna leave anyone out, everywhere I have gone has been good. The most recent place was Amsterdamn, that’s always good and the next place is in Greece and then Berlin pretty soon too.
