Introduce yourself and tell us about the part of the UK you’re from?

I’m Riton and I’m from Newcastle Upon Tyne and I currently live in Camden town

What have you been working on recently?

Just released my latest EP on Ed Banger Records called ‘Bad Guy RiRi’ and next month my collaboration with vocalist Meleka is coming out on my new record label Riton Time

Excellent and talk us through the mix?

I tried to give people a taste of what they might expect if they came and saw me play – I was going pretty direct for party mode in this one and wanted to make it super fresh so I tried to select the best of what I love and that’s around at the moment in my DJ bag, I’m also glad I topped and tailed the mix with my own tracks from my new Ed Banger EP to give it some sort of reference.

Lovely and talk us through some of the British music featured?

I don’t really see borders with music but more styles and I think the UK is producing a lot of great stuff right now. I’m in to all the friend within, Skream, Lebreton, Paul Woolford and Daniel Avery.

Some great artists, were there any British DJ’s or producers that influenced you in the beginning?

I think all the guys who talked me through the business over the years from the early days in Newcastle with Scott and Scooby and In Manchester the likes of the Unanbombers and Mark Rae. Then in the 2000s I was in Europe a lot with 2 Many DJ’s and of course my biggest influence Dj Mehdi!

Amazing, so what is on the cards in the immediate future?

Get the label blowing up! I’m really excited about the new material on there!

And finally where is the best place in the world you have DJ’d and why?

Probably melt festival outside of Berlin – I did it four years in a row it’s crazy and I always did the Sunday night when everyone is super loose – the festivals in an old iron mine with huge cranes – kind of reminds me of Robocop – the old one not the crappy remake!
