7 Sides of Solardo [Interview & Mix] | Selector Afterdark

This week’s interview & mix comes from Solardo

Blog

Introduce yourself and tell us about the part of the UK you’re from?
We’re Solardo and we’re a DJ and production duo from Manchester.

Can you tell us a bit about what you’ve been working on recently?

We released our Acid Rocks EP on Skream’s Of Unsound Mind at the start of the year, which reached the top ten in Beatport’s Tech House releases chart.

We’ve also recently released an EP on MadTech and another one on VIVa MUSiC, which also both made the Top 10.

Our Rock N Roll EP on Underground Audio has also received loads of support from some of the major players in the scene.

We have EPs forthcoming on Snatch!, Lost, MTA, Roush, a couple of big remixes on the way and a collab with Skream, which we are currently in the process of signing.

And can you talk us through the mix?

Our mix is made up of all of our own productions, released and unreleased music, all of which is coming out over the next few months. We wanted the mix to represent our sound and it’s a good chance for people to hear what we’re up to.

Nice, talk us through the British music featured in this mix? Which British artists are you most excited about?

All of the music is our own. We have so much at the moment we thought it would be a good chance to showcase our sound.

Cool, tell us about some of your British DJ heroes?

There’s so many to mention, obviously we love Steve Lawler, Skream, Richy Ahmed and Jamie Jones, to name just a few. They smash it every time.

Great and what’s on the cards in the immediate future?

We have loads of music being released at the moment. Our tour diary is stacking up nicely with gigs all over the show. We’re really looking forward to playing Fabric in May and also Skream’s birthday party at Blue Marlin in Ibiza during the opening parties.

And finally, where is the best place in the world you have performed and why?

Mark: I played Sonar in 2008,which was mind-blowing! I played after Kanye West, which was very surreal.
