Introduce yourself and tell us about the part of the UK you’re from?

Troy Gunner. Music creator and DJ from Bristol, the creativity capital of the UK, in my (biased) opinion.

Can you tell us a bit about what you’ve been working on recently?

My latest EP for Hypercolour sub-label, Losing Suki and another EP under a new alias ‘WxT’ that I do with my friend Woz – forthcoming on Mak & Pasteman’s Materials imprint.

And can you talk us through the mix?

It’s a melting pot of material I’d typically play out. Some loungey bits in there, balanced by some harder, more experimental tackle for contrast.

Nice, talk us through the British music featured in this mix? Which British artists are you most excited about?

There are some bits in there from Aphex Twin, Boddika, Akkord, Kowton, Tessela, Woz, myself and lots of others. My tastes change all the time, but I’m particularly feeling the dark, sexy and experimental sound coming from producers such as Hodge, Batu, Mosca and the Livity Sound guys.

Cool, tell us about some of your British musical Heroes and influences in general?

I grew up collecting Drum n Bass & Jungle records. Then I became heavily inspired by the likes of Synkro & Mount Kimbie/Hotflush Recordings. More recently I was living with the My Nu Leng guys as well, so their darker and more party-style sound has paid a large influence in my more recent work that has come out on labels such as Blackbutter

Great and what’s on the cards in the immediate future?

I have 2 new EPs coming out (above mentioned). I’m working in the studio with a vocalist called Youth and have some exciting shows coming up soon that include London, Sheffield and Nass festival.

And finally, where is the best place in the world you have performed and why?

Belgium. I’ve played there quite a few times now and it just keeps getting better with each visit. I’ll probably end up living there when I’m much older.
