Introduce yourself and tell us about the part of the UK you’re from?

I’m a 23-year-old London based producer. I’ve been living in London for a fair few years now but I grew up near Bristol, which has always been a hub for various creative industries. I’m interested in producing and playing music with lots of percussive rhythms, which led me down the route of African influenced dance music.

Can you tell us a bit about what you’ve been working on recently?

I’ve been in the studio a lot recently. I’m looking forward to putting out far more music in 2016 than in previous years, so I’ve been spending most of my time writing new music.

And can you talk us through the mix?

I wanted to showcase a lot of the stuff I’ve been listening to over the past year and stick it all into one slightly coherent mix. It was fun to do on my laptop and spend some time, not rushing through it all.

Nice, talk us through the British music featured in this mix? Which British artists are you most excited about?

I’ve included music from Woz’s latest EP on Monki’s ZOO Music label – he’s smashed it on that one. Another British DJ I’ve featured is Alex Coulton, he is such an underrated producer and all of his releases personify the dark, percussive techno edged music from the UK, so it’s always good to play his stuff.

I’ve also included something from Mosca, who is always on point too. I don’t know any other producer who can switch from garage to g house to dark, brooding techno and all make it sound coherent.

Cool, tell us about some of your British musical Heroes and influences in general?

David Rodigan, Ben UFO, Raf Daddy, Fabio, the list goes on…I guess we are blessed to have such a rich cultural heritage of DJ’s and dance music culture in the UK, lucky us!

Great and what’s on the cards in the immediate future?

Refining and polishing all this music I’ve been perched on for the past 12 months!

And finally, where is the best place in the world you have performed and why?

I just came back from a little tour of Vietnam and the gig in Hanoi was great. It was such a surreal, bizarre night, like something out of the Tarrantino film. They have a full curfew enforced by the police at midnight, so we got shut down by the police at 12 and then drove 45 minutes out of the city on this deserted motor way, to an Italian pizza restaurant run by some French guys who had a sound system in the basement. I ended up playing for hours and it was just super bizarre and fun, so I’ve got to shout out CAMA ATK in Hanoi!
