ADE has for 20 years now been a benchmark for all things dance music and long famed for showcasing the industry’s finest talent. As one of Amsterdam’s foremost clubs AIR plays a key role in hosting some of the most anticipated parties of the weeklong celebration of all things electronic music. With a packed schedule running from Wednesday right through to Sunday it was going to be a week of road blocked events for AIR Amsterdam. Wednesday saw Spinnin Records arrive for a exclusive showcase, Friday was the turn of Defected and Strictly Rhythm’s take over, Saturday Vouver Presents Redlight and Sunday was time for the Lets Ketchup and Mayo to round off the weekend.

On The Thursday UK legend and long serving stalwart of the scene took control of the club for his now famous All Gone Pete Tong party.  The brand having toured the world from Ibiza to Miami is a permanent fixture at ADE and this year’s party lived up to the high standard, which keeps brining clubbers back to the dance floor. On the buttons as we entered was Kidnap Kid, another artist heralding from the UK who has built a strong following over the past years with a strong connecting to the Black Butter Records crew. Rolling out distinctive deep, house as the club began to fill up. Monkey Safari were up next, hailing from Germany the brother duo raised the tempo a few notches and pushed the music into a deeper more tech leaning direction. The main man Pete Tong delivered what long term fans have come to expected a showcase of all that is hot right now in the world of dance music, before current scene favourite and an artist who Pete has been championing on his BBC Radio 1 show for years, Kolsch. Undeniably one of the major winners from the house scene over the past years, ahead of dropping his upcoming album later this year Kolsch took to the stage as the club hit its peak. Rolling through a fine selection do deep and tech house he kept the atmosphere and crowd pumping throughout. Sneaking into room 2 for a much needed breather from the main room and PBR Streetgrang were smashing out the rolling tech house they built there career on and continued to showcase the British talent that is overwhelming the dance scene of late.

Overall All Gone does what is expected and much like the DJ from whom the party takes its name it doesn’t challenge the clubber or put them outsider of their comfort zone with forward thinking music, but what it does so well is deliver an easily digestible night of entertaining, if middle of the road, club music.
