Event Review: Glitterbox Opening at Space Ibiza

Disco comes back to the White Island…

Blog

Last Friday, Space opened its doors for the start of its marathon final season and with Defected’s Glitterbox as the famous Terrace exploded into life once more.

With a mammoth crowd crammed into the room it made for a white hot atmosphere that was sending everyone to dizzying heights. In true Space style the room was littered with dancers, disco-balls and glamour. With the lights sending beams of glaring strobe down on the gathered mob as they became truly ‘lost in music’.

Dimitri from Paris‘ Sister Sledge mix was not the only hit of the night, with the infamous Disco King intent on blasting hit after hit. The crowd, as always in Ibiza, attracted those from all ages which in testament to the draw of Space – it allows people to leave their inhibitions and worries elsewhere, leaving only smiles etched across the faces of those around us.

Todd Terry took to the stage late on and seemed intent trying to draw the biggest mass singalong from the crowd. A three song salvo of ‘Gypsy Woman’ ‘Music Sounds Better With You’ and ‘Around The World’ whipped the crowd into a frenzy.

Glitterbox is hosted on Space’s Terrace every Friday and it is a must see for all those heading to Ibiza this summer. Click here for tickets and more information.
