IMG_0829Kachette, a hidden East London venue known for hosting experimental and Avant-garde events was overthrown last Friday with fantastic production that seen the cub transformed into a moody woodland forest scene. With huge trees, bushes, moss and perfectly placed lighting, the venue looked like something out of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

By 1am, Jolyon had warmed up proceedings nicely, setting the mood of the venue into one of anticipation, and creating a perfect setting for the incoming headline set.

The atmosphere and vibe was on point, drinks were flowing, and the vibe was right. Enter Mees Dierdrop.

Mees Dierdorp, an Amsterdam born DJ and producer was main headliner for the night, showcasing his first set in London, and delivering an eclectic set that held influences from jazz, soul, acoustic and various areas of dance music. Carrying and shaping IMG_1095the energy of the crowd through an extended set, Mees Dierdorp showed impressive control over the club, using the venues aesthetics to their true potential with weird acoustic samples and spacial tracks to create an interesting vibe.

It’s safe to say that SOLO’s first London event was a huge success, bringing together all the elements of nightlife that matter, and expanding on them to create a onetime experience you will regret you missed. We see big things for all involved this weekend, and recommend you keep an eye out for future proceedings. Don’t miss out!
