FunkyNessa’s Artist Spotlight – Miss Fire

Words by Vanessa ‘FunkyNessa’ Ryan.
Happy new year to all the UK Funky family!

My first article of 2012 is on an inspiring young lady from Leicester, Miss Fire, who is definitely standing strong for the ladies with multiple talents including being a singer-songwriter, sound engineer and producer. I think she has achieved a massive amount when you consider the progress she has already made at the age of 22. I’m sure this year we will see even more exciting projects by this young lady. All Funky House lovers should be familiar with Miss Fire’s vocals.

Miss fire has put out a lot of tracks in the last 3 years. The song that stood out for me was “Can’t Say No”.  Fire’s vocals on this track are fiery, powerful and puts the listeners in the raving mood. Most of Miss Fire’s tracks have a unique vibe, an example of this was when she worked with DJ Naughty on the production for “Its you” and “Falling” which the latter has received just under 40,000 views on YouTube. Moving on to my personal favourite “Happy” I love Miss Fire for this track because I can relate to the way she emphasises “I am trying to make you Happy”!! Working with DJ naughty again on “closer” it’s clear that Fire knows what she wants from her songs and what she delivers for the ravers to give such good feedback.

For her recent production, Fire worked with Wolverhampton singer Flavia “All for you”. the production has that original funky feel with Flavia’s deep but smooth tone to compliment the sound. It’s also good to see more female funky house artists collaborating and producing tracks for each other. Fresh for 2012 Miss Fire decided to release her own remix to “Loose your Breath” originally sang by R&B sensation Destiny’s Child. I think Miss Fire is continuing to put her all into her music for 2012, standing strong as one of the leading UK female funky singers. I personally look forward to hearing more ‘Fiery’ beats, ‘Fiery’ vocals and maybe even a all female collaboration with other talented singers from the UK Funky / House scene.
