If theres one industry event we are really excited about this year, it’s this one! Having just recently announced the details for this year’s IMS Grand Finale Festival at Dalt Vila on Friday 25th May – a spectacular open-air celebration of the very best in modern electronic music, now regarded as one of theunmissable events in the Ibizan summer season. The team behind the IbizaInternational Music Summit have announced the outline of the day schedule, which will once again be held at the impressive 5* Ibiza Gran Hotel.

With its Grand Finale Festival at Dalt Vila proving unmissable for music fans, the same can be applied to it’s day schedule for anyone working, or wanting to work within electronic music. Tackling hugely important subjects for labels, managers, publishers and of course the artists, the IMS offers you the opportunity to listen and be apart of vital conversation with the world’s leading figures across music, business and digital strategy.

Spread across three days (Wed 23rd, Thu 24th, Fri 25th May), the IMS consists of some of the most forward-thinking and relevant discussion that you’ll ever experience. A truly exciting occasion that is coordinated by some of the most experienced names in the business; now in 2012 it announces its strongest line up of panels and guest speakers since its founding five years ago.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THIS YEAR’S SUMMIT:

  • NILE ROGERS: Each year the IMS presents keynote artist interviews with some of the biggest names in music and entertainment and this year is no different. The legendary front man of Chic, Nile Rogers will be at IMS to discuss his epic journey as a musician, including the recent exciting news of his partnership with Daft Punk for a forthcoming album.
  • DIPLO: The second keynote interviewee this year will be none other than Diplo, the man behind Mad Decent records, one-half of Major Lazer and producer to artists including Snoop Dogg, Beyonce, M.I.A. and many more. This is your chance to hear how a passionate local Philadelphia-based DJ rose to become one of the most important and sellable producers in mainstream music.
  • THE WORLD ACCORDING TO FRANCOIS K: Having arrived at the first summit with a 50-page prepared document to work through, it’s taken a few years to get him back but the IMS welcomes back Francois K – and we’ve even given him his own conference room to host!
  • THE BIGGEST DJ’S: The DJ’s will be represented by some of the biggest and most exciting names in the world – and the people that continue to make Ibiza such a special place in the summer. Conversations will be taking place with key names such as Luciano, Paul Oakenfold, Carl Cox, Seth Troxler, Loco Dice and Above & Beyond.
  • MUSIC BRANDS/PARTNERS: Exploring all avenues of promotion, revenue and partnerships, the IMS have continued their policy of inviting leading players in global business to discuss ways of incorporating electronic music into different areas. This year will include a keynote address from Tatiana Simonian (Head of Music Partnership for Twitter), Patrick Walker from YouTube, D.A Wallach from Spotify, Eddy Moretti from Vice and many, many more. A huge subject for the future of the industry.
  • LEADING MUSIC INDUSTRY FIGURES: Shining a light on the people behind the scene as much as the people behind the decks, IMS: 2012 will feature names such as James Barton (Founder of Cream), Simon Dunmore (Founder of Defected), Daniel Miller (Founder of Mute), Pino Sagliocco (Ibiza 123 / Live Nation), Ted Cohen (Tag Strategic) and lots more. This is your opportunity to have face-time with the people that are normally so impossible to pin down.
  • THE IMS ANTHEM: This year’s anthem will be performed by the Japanese Popstars.
  • THE PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE: An annual debate focusing on some of the most important subjects for 2012, this year it will including festival billing wars, Ibiza, publishing and technology.

The IMS Legends Dinner, hosted by IMS co-founder Pete Tong, will celebrate Carl Cox. Cox became a headline act in the late 80’s, DJing the most exciting raves at the time and was the first ‘star’ DJ of Ibiza from his early shows in San Antonio, maintaining his global status for 25 years.
