Last week it was widely reported that MTV planned to make a new show on the White Isle called, ‘Ibiza Shore’, a spin off from ‘Geordie Shore’ and ‘Jersey Shore’. The dance music community were pretty much unanimously agreed this was a terrible idea and now it seems that the locals (including the President of the island’s local government) have made it clear they don’t want it to happen either..
“If we can stop this, we will. It’s a matter of image, that’s what worries us. That’s a side of Ibiza that we’re not interested in at all.”

The local government have even gone so far to ask venues and local businesses not to work with producers of the show. The Guardian reported that the head of Ibiza’s association of caterers has rejected an offer to cater for the shows production he said:
“I don’t have anything against the producers; I’m just reflecting an opinion that many share here in Ibiza, that we don’t want this program here.”
So it’s Ibiza vs MTV – who will win…. More news as we hear it!
