Nile Rodgers has Confirmed new Chic Album for 2017

Nile Rodgers will drop a new Chic album next year..

In a heart-felt blog post on his website, disco legend, Nile Rodgers has confirmed that there will be a new Chic album in 2017. The album was originally to be released in 2016 but as so many dance music legends that Rodgers loved and worked with (including David Bowie, Prince, Glenn Fry and Paul Kantner) died he felt the timing was not right.

2017 is a big anniversary year for Chic, marking the 40th anniversary of Studio 54 (the club from where Chic first rose to fame) and the 40th anniversary of the band. The perfect time to release the long-awaited album.

In 2017, we will pay homage to the club that put us on the international map by doing a series of concerts, afterparties, VIP Packages, films and singles – then drop the full album along with a BIG SURPRISE! – Nile Rodgers

There is no release date for the album or details for the tour yet but we can’t wait for this album!
