The PLX-1000 does not re-invent the wheels of st, in fact it does not boost many new features at all. It instead offers a classic look and feel that will feel familiar to those used to playing on Technics. The tempo controls are perhaps the most notable differentiator.
All the cables will be removable / changeable and Pioneer have been working hard to make the inner workings more reliable and better than ever.
