Several well-known DJs at Radio 1 and 1Xtra have been dropped as a result of schedule changes and ‘painful’ BBC budget cuts. Edith Bowman, Nihal, Mike Davies, Rob Da Bank, Jen Long, Ally McCrae, CJ Beatz, Crissy Criss and Robbo Ranx are all leaving the BBC behind.
The schedule changes do however bring some lighter news for dance music fans, B.Traits joins Radio 1’s Friday night dance line-up from 1 – 4am, following extended shows from Annie Mac (7 – 10pm) and Pete Tong (10pm – 1am).
Skream’s Friday night show has also been axed and he has instead been added to the Radio 1 Residency show which has also been extended for an extra hour.
