Many DJ’s, producers and electronic music fans will be reading this while breathing a big sigh of relief. It has been confirmed that Simon Cowell’s ‘DJ Idol’ show has been scrapped.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that the reason for this is that the two production companies involed, Syco and Overbrook have been locked in a legal battle over production credits.
Whatever the reason, we know that their was a huge amount of negativity coming from the electronic music scene about the original idea so this news will be music to a lot of DJ’s ears! However don’t get too excited as we have heard rumours of several oter similar TV formats in the works.
