It’s that time of the year again where we all sit down and come up with New Year’s Resolutions. We think there are a couple of things wrong with this tradition. Firstly it’s usually done just before the biggest night out in the year so we wake up with a hangover and have already forgotten what our resolutions were. Then the second big problem with New Year’s resolutions is we tend to make them in the company of just a few others, so no one knows if they are kept or not.
With these things in mind we have decided to make our resolutions for 2013 public so you can all see how we get on, look back on this next year and laugh at our failures, or give us a virtual high five if we manage them. So without further ado here goes….
Resolution 1: Label – In 2013 we will launch the all new Soundplate record label. The label will represent the best of what we feature on Soundplate, underground house and electronic music from the UK and around the world.
Resolution 2: Events – We will host more Soundplate parties. We hope to throw a couple more big parties in London but then look to take the brand further afield.. Perhaps even outside the UK 😉
Resolution 3: Merchandise – We will increase the range and quality of our merchandise this year; we also have plans to re-design and re-stock the shop page of the site. Designers, if you want to get involved contact us – [email protected].
Resolution 4: Media – This one is going to be a bit harder to keep.. We will create original media content (video / photos) at a minimum of one event / month. We will also start our interview series again and regularly upload video interviews and studio sessions to our Youtube channel.
Resolution 5: Music / Content – We will continue to update the site daily (365 days/ year) with the latest music from the house and electronic music scene from around the world, but not lose our focus on supporting UK underground talent. We will also aim to increase the amount of written editorial content on the site.
