Over the next few days we will be in Ibiza for the fifth annual International Music Summit. While we are over there we will be interviewing some of the stars of electronic music and attending some of the opening parties for this years Ibiza season. Day 4 – 19:05
Got back from a great little beach party on Bora Bora around half an hour ago, now getting ready for tonight, last night on the island before flying back to London so better make it a good one!
Day 4 – 13:05:
Last night was incredible, it was a great experience, just wait until you see the photos and video footage! Check out the pic on the right for a little preview! Today I am taking it easy, the conference has finished so Im exploring the island a bit. I have one meeting to go to but other than that I am free all day until the Defected opening party tonight. It’s been an amazing few days, look out for the full write-up early next week!
Day 3 – 15:30:
Quick stop for lunch. It’s been a very busy morning. Interview with Carl Cox, some fantastic networking and a very entertaining keynote panel with Nile Rodgers! This afternoon I am going to be on a networking mission as after all the slogan of the event is ‘Connections Count!’ I am pumped for tonight, will will be backstage at the Dalt Vila for Carl Cox, Pete Tong, Azari & III, Disclosure and loads of others. Then will be heading for another big night out in town!
Day 3 – 11:50:
Back in the Gran Hotel and preparing to interview Carl Cox in an hour or so. Last day f the conference today, got lots of networking to do!
Day 3 – 01:50:
Out with producers ‘The Other Guys’ who are playing a small club tonight, great atmosphere – their set was fantastic, lots of tribal / tech house influenced stuff. Will catch them for an interview sometime tomorrow.

That was an amazing experience, the Dalt Vila is hands down the coolest music venue I have ever been to. Amazing views across ibiza, increible staging and lighting and a brilliant party atmosphere. Can’t wait to share some video footage with you! Now on to the next one!

Just finished filming the first online interview with Simon Dunmore after he won his award! We have also received confirmation that we will be interviewing Carl Cox tomorrow!!

Day 2 – 16:55:
Just finished interviewing two great up and coming Australian dance music acts, GEMELLINI and 15GRAMS. Now heading into a question and answer session with Simon Dunmore.
Day 2 – 15:20:
Left a the great IMS Question time session to some breakfast / lunch. Int he question time panel P2P file sharing was a hot topic and the panel all agreed that p2p is important and positive not a threat to the industry. There was also some interesting discussion about EDM acts growing to quickly.. Would be interesting to hear Avicci’s opinion on that!
Worth mentioning for anyone at IMS – Found a lovely pizza / pasta place not far from the Gran, it’s next door to the Burger King on the bay, it’s pretty cheap and has fast internet! About a 10 minute walk from the hotel!

Already met some very interesting people today, turns out I am better at networking once i have had some sleep! Will be attending some amazing panels this afternoon so keep it here for updates…

Just finished up two interviews with up and coming Australian DJ / Production duo Gemellini and producer / DJ, 15Grams. Look out for these guys, lots coming up from them soon!

Just been told I have an interview with Pete Tong in 1 hour… TAXI !!!
Day 2 – 04:50 – Pacha was incredible! Seeing Chase & Status smash it with Dubstep in a club so famous for House music was almost surreal. The atmosphere was fantastic and all the sets I managed to stay for were great. Check out the cool photo of Chase & Status doing what they do best >
Day 2 – 01:00 : Just woken up… Heading down to Pacha feeling pretty rough but it should be a good one!
Day 1 – 18:00 :
Taken a break from panels to get a bit of work done.. Although not for long as I am hoping to catch the panel with representatives from Mixmag, Coca-Cola and Beatport next. After that it will be time to find some food, get back to the hotel for some rest and then get ready for Pacha tonight! – Internet is running slow here so will update this page with pictures asap.
Day 1 – 15:46 :
Wifi problems sorted and listening to a keynote interview with James Barton and Pete Tong… He just said:
“We were terrible at business.. we were great at filling a room but terrible at handling money” – Amazing how things turn out, James has gone from a late 80s rave promoter to the head of electronic music for Live Nation having just sold them the Cream brand.
Day 1 – 13:45 :
Just arrived at The 5 star Gran Hotel, it’s beautiful and there is a real buzz here. I spotted a few serious industry players almost straight away. Press pass picked up, let the fun begin!!
Day 1 – 11.45am :
Reached hotel, pretty long journey from airport as I got totally lost. Still have an hour or so to wait before I can get into my room, having a quick explore of the hotel and sending a few E-mails. Will dump bags in the room and head down to the Gran Hotel for the first day of the conference as soon as I can get in. Still no slept – will worry about that later!
Day 1 – 07:45am :
In the air! Flight is smooth and left on time, no complaints here! It’s a little surreal sitting on a plane to Ibiza while planning interviews with some House music legends – nice to reflect on quickly we are making progress! Next time I want a flight with less crying babies!
Day 1 – 04:49am:
One crazy cab driver telling me everyone is racist while blasting Westlife, one extra baggage charge, some security checks and a couple of Red Bull’s later I have Finally made it to the departure lounge at Gatwick. Feeling a bit worse for wear at the moment as I haven’t slept more than 5 hours in the last 48 but excited about Ibiza all the same. I have an hour or so to waste so a quick website update, check of E-mails and some interview question planning before getting on my flight! See you in Ibiza!
