The BBC Announce first ‘truly digital’ Glastonbury!

Glastonbury FestivalThe BBC have unveiled their plans for this years Glasto coverage and by the sounds of it they are seriously stepping it up. Their will be live coverage from six stages, available on multiple devices. All in all there will be 250 hours of coverage across four BBC TV channels, four radio stations and a multitude of digital platforms.

Mark Friend, BBC controller, multi-platforms and interactive, radio, said:The planned coverage followed the BBC’s extensive coverage of last summer’s Olympic Games on which it offered multiple viewing choices for its audience and the launches last year of the BBC iPlayer Radio service and Connected Red Button. Coverage will be available on PC, mobiles, tablets and connected devices.

We hope and expect that this announcement means we will be able to check out the all new dance arena with artists including Disclosure, Hot Natured, Rudimental, SBTRKT, Skream, Benga and Simian Mobile Disco!
