The legendary club nights based in Manchester, The Warehouse Project, will strip back its event schedule next year. A Facebook post has revealed that there will only be “a handful of special events”. This comes after one individual sadly died unexpectedly after taking drugs at the venue.

Warehouse-ProjectSam Kendal, the co-founder of WHP, stated that they are to “take a break from the current format”. This downsize will see the clubs first time in 8 years to not hold a full twelve week run of club nights, since starting in 2006.

This shock to avid club goers follows the organisations’ new drug testing programme which hopes to not repeat the devastating event last month which saw Nick Bonnie being taken ill after attending the club and later dying after taking what is believed to have been contaminated ecstasy. Co-founder Kendal continued, “There’s a responsibility on everyone” in order to “make sure the environment is safe”.

New Year’s Day welcomes Jamie Jones, Breach, George Fitzgerald, T.Williams, Ben Pearce, San Soda and many more DJs. Not to mention a handful of back-to-backs: Dixon & Âme, Ben UFO & Joy Orbison, Jackmaster & Onemen and Paul Woolford & Midland.
